She is the child of Harvey Welker, a Native American father along with Julie Welker, an African American mother. The daughter is both a Native American father as well as an African-American mom. Walker was educated through the Germantown Friends School (Germantown Area) in Philadelphia, graduating in 1994. In 1998, she earned an undergraduate qualification in the field of education at Harvard College. Welker, wed to John Hughes of Merck Philadelphia in Philadelphia is mother to two. The couple began their relationship in the year 2014. John, her husband is a year younger than her. Their relationship was progressing so well that they took their relationship to a new level.
