Lucy Liu is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and a singer. She is an attractive, smart actress who is a source of inspiration for numerous Asian actors to achieve success in Hollywood. After several appearances in popular TV shows her name was a household name when she was a part of the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she was Ling Woo. Her sudden fame translated into film roles such as Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. Then she gave a stunning performance as Japanese crime lord, O-RenIshii as Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time she was playing major roles in other box-office failures including Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she began voice-overs for prominent characters in animated films like Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's character was in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen feature, failed to result in any satisfactory results. In the course of her recurring roles in the critically acclaimed police drama series Southland helped re-establish herself as an actress of note. Liu carefully selects roles to ensure she is not stereotyped within an industry that is highly competitive.
